266: Double Trouble

I went to the vet's again this week.   'Was taken' is probably a better construction than 'went'.  I always get taken - reluctantly and with maximum resistance.

Actually, I think vets should be banned.  I think I might write to that nice Mr Starmer and seek his support.

But I digress - from my suffering this week - which I know you are keen to hear about.

Every year I have to have 2 injections - well one injection and one dose of something sprayed up my nose..

Don't worry. I am not ill or damaged in any way.  These are preventative measures- designed to stop me getting specific doggy illnesses. I'm not sure which ones - vets don't talk to dogs to explain what is happening. They just utter inanities (is that a word?) like "Who's a good girl, then?"  I believe the full and proper response is "I am" but its never seemed a conversation worth continuing.

The problem this year is that they have changed one of these treatments - the injection, I think.  Evidently previously it 'covered me' for two types of the specific virus it is designed to prevent.  The newer one (isn't progress wonderful) is said to cover me for 4 types of the virus.  The problem is that because it is new, it has to be built up and I need a second dose in exactly 4 weeks (to the day) to ensure it works.

So, I have to make an additional visit to the VET (play scary music here) next month.

And remember, all this suffering is for s dog who is fit and well (but slightly overweight).
