297: Its Happened Again!

Even I can't keep up with my own illnesses and ailments.  I've been to the vet yet again..  I've had the dreaded 'tear test' again to see if new medication is stimulating tear production from my deficient tear duct.  They stick strips of litmus paper (remember that from your schooldays) under my eyelid snd see how far the tears (caused by the irritation) send the alkali (who knew tears were alkaline) spread along the strip of litmus paper.  It is rather an uncomfortable and unpleasant experience but it did suggest some improvement. I have to go back in January for a repeat test.

Don't think that was the end of my miserable 30 - 40 minutes.

I also have a 'yeast infection' in my ears which is proving to be rather stubborn in responding to mediation (and daily ear cleaning).  Jacky does her best but either my infection is more stubborn than most or Jacky is incompetent.  The net result is some new, additional medication which we have to source online as it is too expensive to buy via the vet.

So, I get an uncomfortable half hour so so every day for more cleaning and expensive drops (at least I think the new medicine come in the form of drops) and John & Jacky get increasingly large bills to pay.

If I pray to the dog God, do you think he/she might arrange a magical cure - or is that not what Gods do? (Respond to selfish appeals for help).

I think, on balance, it is inappropriate.  I know there are dogs with much worse conditions than me - and poorer people than John & Jacky struggling to pay even larger vet bills, so - at this time of consideration of others - I will just bear it with my usual good grace and instinctive benevolence.

Merry Christmas everyone.
